Ways to use surveys and feedback forms

You can collect valuable feedback and gain insights for you business by using an online survey tool. The data you collect can range from ratings on areas of your business (pre-qualification process, marketing the property, communication during the transaction, customer service from your team) to constructive feedback on where and how to improve.

Here are a few ideas on how to include surveys or polls into your business:

Client social media sites/preferred means of communication

  • Send a survey to your sphere of influence, past clients to learn their preferred method of communication and to find out what social media platforms they use.
  • When you add a new prospect to your database, discover their preferences with a survey.
  • Survey questions should include options/choices for these questions at least:
    • What is your preferred method of communication for status updates during your transaction?
      • Phone Call
      • Text
      • Email
      • Combination
    • What is your preferred method of notification for our newsletter, client appreciation program?
      • Email
      • Mail
      • Text Notification
    • Which social media site do you use and how often?
      • Facebook
      • LinkedIn
      • Twitter
      • Instagram
      • Snapchat
      • Pinterest
      • YouTube
      • Other

Post-closing customer service for seller and buyer
After each closing, we recommend sending a survey to your client to get the valuable feedback of their experience, your service, and recommendations for improvement and to ask for a written testimonial or review to use in your marketing.

Feedback and user experience on your website or other technology
Send a survey to current users on your website and get their feedback of the various features. Is the site user friendly? What do they like about the home search? How does it compare to other online search sites they have used?

Post event / seminar survey
Do you conduct buyer or seller seminars or other educational events in your business? If so, make sure to include a feedback survey at the conclusion of the event.

  • Overall rating – was it useful, educational, informative?
  • Rate the effectiveness of the speakers
  • What did you like, takeaways?
  • What could we improve?
  • What topics would you like to see in future events?
  • How likely are you to recommend this seminar to others?
  • Remarks, feedback, testimonial area

Poll your database to learn what is important to them

  • Find out what website features are important to your customers and clients before you invest in that new website.
  • Do you blog? Poll your database to discover what topics they want more information on.
  • Considering conducting seminars? Poll your database to gage the interest level and on what subjects.
